Cookie policy
Last updated: August 2026
We use very few cookies, and the only one that tracks anything is off unless you switch it on. This page lists every cookie and similar technology on letrixlabs.com, what each one does, and how to change your mind.
1. What we mean by cookies
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. Websites also use similar technologies, local storage being the most common, which do much the same job. UK law treats them the same way, so this policy covers both, and we say “cookies” throughout to mean either.
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, we may only store cookies on your device without asking if they are strictly necessary to provide something you have asked for. Everything else needs your consent first. That is the line we have drawn below.
2. Strictly necessary: no consent required
These are needed for the site to work or to keep it secure. They cannot be switched off.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| cookie-consent | Letrix Labs (local storage) | Remembers whether you accepted or declined optional analytics | 12 months |
| Cloudflare Turnstile | Cloudflare | Confirms our enquiry form is being used by a person and not a bot. Only active on the contact page | Session |
| Crisp chat | Crisp | Maintains your live chat conversation and session state across pages | Up to 6 months |
The consent cookie is the mild irony of every cookie banner: we have to store your refusal somewhere, otherwise we would ask you again on every page.
A note on live chat
We provide Crisp live chat on all pages so you can message us at any time. Crisp uses browser storage to maintain your conversation state as you navigate the site, which is strictly necessary to deliver live chat support.
3. Analytics: only with your consent
These are off by default. They are only set if you press Accept on our banner, and you can withdraw that at any time.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes one visitor from another | 2 years |
| _ga_<container-id> | Google Analytics | Maintains session state | 2 years |
Google Analytics runs in Consent Mode with analytics storage denied by default, and with IP anonymisation enabled. Nothing is sent until you consent. Google’s own handling of this data is covered by its privacy policy.
4. Analytics that need no consent at all
Most of our traffic statistics come from self-hosted, privacy-first analytics that use no cookies whatsoever. It does not store anything in your browser, does not use a persistent identifier, does not follow you across other websites, and cannot build a profile of you. It counts page views and referrers in aggregate, which is all we actually want to know.
Because it stores nothing on your device and processes no personal data, it falls outside the consent requirement, which is precisely why we chose it. It is not covered by the banner and there is nothing to opt out of.
5. What we do not use
To be explicit, this site sets no:
- advertising or retargeting cookies;
- social media tracking pixels;
- cross-site tracking or data broker tags;
- cookies that sell or share your data with anyone.
6. Changing your mind
You can change your preference whenever you like, and it takes one click. Declining switches Google Analytics off immediately.
The same link sits in the footer of every page. We will ask you again 12 months after your last choice, so a decision you made a year ago does not bind you forever.
You can also control cookies in your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them. Doing so may affect how this and other sites behave. The ICO’s guide to cookies explains the options.
7. Products and templates
This policy covers letrixlabs.com only. Our own products each publish their own cookie and privacy policies, and template purchases happen on Gumroad, which sets its own cookies under its own policy.
8. Changes and contact
If we add or remove a cookie, we will update this page and the date at the top. For anything about this policy, email hello@letrixlabs.com. Our full Privacy Policy explains everything else we do with personal data.
